I need help with my accounting assignment. I am not understanding exactly what to do.

Selecting a for-profit organization of interest, you will research an unusual or conflicting accounting priniciple that has impacted your chosen organization. The research requires you to present review and analyze the organizations published accounting statements of the last 2 years. Specifically, your research paper will:

1. Identify the core functions of each department, their strengths and weaknesses, and make recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
2. compare the alternative courses of action.
3. Explain the effects at issue.
4. Recommend options that would be consistant with the accounting practices and accounting-related departments.
5. Include the last 2 years of published accounting statements.
